11.3" Wide Piece Of Polished Indonesian Amber - Massive!

This is a huge, 11.3" wide piece of amber collected from West Kalimantan, Indonesia. The amber has been polished to a glossy finish across the entire specimen. There is some damage along one edge of the amber, this has been reflected in its price.

Under both short and long-wave UV, the amber fluoresces a vibrant blue-purple color, as well as reveals the waves/layers that formed during the deposition of the amber.

Amber is fossilized tree resin that frequently contains inclusions such as plant matter, fungi, and insects. This amber comes from Indonesia and is believed to have formed during the mid-late Miocene, about 10-20 million years ago or older.
