3.8" Thomsonite (Zeolite) On Stilbite - Maharashtra, India

This is a beautiful, 3.8" long specimen containing the zeolite thomsonite from the Maharashtra province of India. Thomsonite is one of the rarest zeolites found in the volcanic rocks in the area. The fuzzy balls of thompsonite have a brown-peach coloration with the largest formation measuring 1.01" across.

Small tabular stilbite crystals can be found protruding from the surface of the matrix, surrounding the thompsonite "blobs" that seem to ooze across the specimen.
