1.25" Vibrant Blue Cyanotrichite - China
These are beautiful, vibrant blue cyanotrichite aggregates, collected from the Qinglong Mine in the Guizhou Province of China. This specimen has been mounted to a display stand.
Cyanotrichite is a hydrous copper aluminum sulfate with the chemical formula Cu4Al2SO4(OH)12 · 2H2O. It is a secondary mineral in copper oxidation zones and is primarily found as spherical aggregates of blue, radiating acicular crystals. Due to the fragility of cyanotrichite crystals, we suggest that specimens be placed in a safe location and handled carefully.
