Three Fossil Leaves (Zizyphoides) - Montana
These are three fossil Zizyphoides flabellum leaves from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The largest is 1.95" wide. The center leaf is a less mature leave and show remarkable vein detail. The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaf can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where some of it flaked onto the negative during collection.
These leaves measure 1.95", 1.8" and 1.7" wide. This specimen includes an acrylic display stand.
