Serrated, 1.21" Tyrannosaur Tooth - Feeding Worn Tip

This is a 1.21" Tyrannosaur tooth from the Judith River Formation of Montana. This formation is approximately 70 million years old, or about 5 million years old than the Hell Creek Formation which produces T-Rex.

Serrations are present on one edge of the tooth while mostly worn on the other. There are some interesting wear facets to the tip of the tooth where it was rubbing against another tooth in the dinosaur's mouth.

Comes with a small acrylic display case.

Three species of tyrannosaur have been described from the Two Medicine & Judith River Formations: Albertosaurus, Gorgosaurus and Daspletosaurus. Research done on teeth from these three tyrannosaurs has concluded that isolated teeth are statistically impossible to assign to a specific genus because they are so similar.
