Huge Jurassic Aged Pleurotomaria Gastropod - England

This is a rare, agatized Pleurotomaria cognata gastropod fossil from the Frodingham Ironstone formation of North Lincolnshire, England. It is huge a 3.5" wide and has been excellently prepared from the sandstone it was found in. It's Lower Jurassic (Lower Lias) which makes it approximately 200 million years old. Just the amount of preparation that went into this piece to carefully remove the sandstone surround it would have been an ton of work. Certainly the best specimen of this rare gastropod I have seen, and a very impressive display.
