Fossil Spider Exuviae, Ant and Two Flies in Baltic Amber
This is a 44 million year old fossil spider exuvie (order Araneae), an ant (family Formicidae) and two flies (order Diptera) preserved in Baltic Amber. Exuviae are the remains of an exoskeleton following the molting of insects, crustaceans and arachnids.
As a reminder, most inclusions in baltic amber are extremely small so magnification will be needed to make out much detail. Included with your order is a physical photo of the specimen, and we will also email you a high resolution digital copy.
