Fossil Ant (Formicidae) & Mite (Acari) In Baltic Amber
This 44 million year old piece of baltic amber contains two insect inclusions. There is a fossil ant (family Formicidae) and a fossil mite (subclass Acari). The ant is about is about 3.5mm in length and the mite is not included in the photo.
As a reminder, most inclusions in baltic amber are extremely small so magnification will be needed to make out much detail. Included with your order is a physical photo of the specimen, and we will also email you a high resolution digital copy.
