25" Ordovician Brittle Star & Crinoid Plate

This is a plate of fossil brittle stars (Ophiura sp.) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. The dark orange coloration is due to the oxidization of iron pyrite. There are 27 brittle stars of the genus Ophiura, one which is likely of the genus Stenaster, as well as a few unidentified crinoids. Really a cool seafloor association from the Ordovician.

Comes with a display stand.
