Phytosaur (Redondasaurus) Teeth In Sandstone - New Mexico

This is 2 Phytosaur (Redondasaurus) teeth still embedded in the sandstone in which they were found. These teeth are still embedded in the rock. Only the broken ends are visible. Both appear to be the top of the tooth.

Phytosaurs looked similar to modern day crocodiles with some differences. The main one being that their nostrils were up high on the head instead of at the very front of the snout. They grew up to 20 feet in length and were certainly one of the dominant predators at the time.
