2.15" Soft-Bodied Fossil Aglaspid (Tremaglaspis) - Positive & Negative

This is a beautifully preserved, 2.15" long Aglaspid (Tremaglaspis sp.) from the Upper Fezouata Formation of Morocco. This aglaspid has frequently been identified as Leptaglaspis schmidti in the past, but Tremaglaspis appears to be more accurate. Beautiful coloration on this specimen. Both the positive and negative splits of the fossil are included.

Aglaspids are a rare type of arthropod which was probably related to trilobites. For a while they were regarded as the ancestors to horseshoe crabs, though this theory has fallen out of favor.
