11.4" Wide Plate with Seven Fossil Leaves (Four Species) - Montana

These are seven fossil leaves from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The rock contains one Zizyphoides flabellum leaf (#1), two Davidia antiqua leaves (#5), three Beringiaphyllum cupanoides leaves (#30), and a Macginitiea nobilis leaf. The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaves can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where pieces of them flaked onto the negative during collection.

This specimen includes an metal display stand.
